"Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!"
                                                                                                   Effie Trinket

We will be reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Look at the book in front of you. Notice the title and the art. Open your book to the copyright page. When was this book published? Where? Look over the chapters, number of pages, and font. What do we know about this book?

Look over the Unit Vocabulary in front of you. Notice there is a left side and a right side. On the left side is a list of vocabulary that we will go over before reading. Using color pencils, underline the words you already know. Using another color, circle the words that are unfamiliar to you.

The right side of the paper will be words that the class will add as we read. Use this section to write down the words and meanings as we go along.
